About

ONCJC is a non-profit organization formed in 1997 to promote, preserve and enjoy the dance styles made popular during the late 1950s and early 1960s. Among these are East & West Coast Swing, Jitterbug, Beach Bop, St. Louis Imperial Swing and Carolina Shag. By popular demand, other dance styles now include Rumba, Cha Cha, Night Club Two and others.

ONCJC is proud to be one of many members of the American Bop Association. The ABA is a national non-profit organization that is in alignment with our Club philosophies. Club members regularly attend wonderful ABA events near and far and have found many friends.

Kap and Lou

Our very own ONCJC Charter Members Kap and Lou were inducted into the ABA Hall of Fame during the St. Louis ABA Convention held in September 2011.

ONCJC is governed by an all volunteer Executive Board consisting of a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and five Trustees. These individuals are elected by the membership for two-year terms. The Executive Board is entrusted with the responsibility of protecting our Mission Statement and By-Laws as set forth by the founding members. They also oversee all social, charitable, promotional events and club volunteer activities. Volunteers handle responsibilities for coordinating events (hosted and worked by other volunteers), lessons, and membership. There is also a newsletter editor, senior DJ and webmaster.
